The White Rose Forest (WRF) partnership is looking to recruit a Grant Administrator to manage its investments across North and West Yorkshire.

This is an exciting time for the White Rose Forest partnership as it supports our collective responses to the Climate Emergency, through a growing programme of tree planting across North and West Yorkshire. Kirklees Council is the accountable body for the WRF joint venture agreement and has the primary responsibility to 1) identify, secure, and manage strategic levels of funding 2) provide the managerial structures and accounting support to create and deliver regional programmes of urban tree and woodland creation.

The White Rose Forest are therefore looking for a Grant Administrator who can demonstrate the ability to

  • Undertake day to day management, recording and reporting on complex multi-million pound tree planting programmes across North and West Yorkshire
  • Manage, co-ordinate and negotiate with the WRF Funders’ Group to support the WRF Delivery Pathways goal of providing the best funding options to landowners
  • Develop and secure new funding opportunities for WRF Partners

The Postholder, under the direction of a Programme Director, will be working with a small team of committed professionals in the WRF team to deliver the accountable body function for the WRF joint venture. You will be required to provide information for and deliver regular reports and presentations to a high standard that reflect the ambitions of the White Rose Forest. It is expected that the post will require a mix of remote working and face to face meetings across North and West Yorkshire.

Good communication skills, attention to detail, working under pressure to deadlines as well as a personal interest in our drive to expand tree cover and involve communities in that process, will be required in working with a large range of external groups and national stakeholders to deliver ambitious Government targets.

Please note that in addition to the generic job description for a Grade 12 post there is a specific job description for the Grant Administrator which will be the basis for assessment criteria.
