Are you a countryside or forestry professional with a passion for landscape scale interventions and change? Do you have a belief in creating excellent spaces for people and nature to thrive in? If this is you and want to be part of a wonderful team that shares that vision then we would like to hear from you!

This exciting opportunity will be working within the greenspace service to help form and lead a small team focused on three core elements – deliver an additional 2500 ha’s of tree canopy cover by 2050, help shape and deliver the green infrastructure of the district and support the development of the council’s portfolio of biodiversity net gain sites.

We are looking for an individual who has the vision to see beyond the mechanics of the works but can look at the outcomes this will deliver for the district and how the delivery can support additional gains.

We have ambitious plans, to create our own local provenance tree nursery supporting local employment and training opportunities, to deliver seamless service to third party landowners to help unlock the potential of the district and ensure our key partners and stakeholders are brought along with us on this journey.

If you think this could be you and you fancy working in the glorious Pennines delivering interventions that will help in the action against climate change and the associated impacts, then please apply.

Rob Dalby is the manager for this role, please contact them on 01484 221000 for an informal discussion, or if you need any more information.
