Social Worker - Mental Health
An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the North Kirklees Core Integrated Mental Health Pathway. The Core pathway provides a holistic service to people with a less complex package of care with the goal of assisting people to achieve their optimum level of functioning. The Core pathway service users will generally require time-limited interventions (up to 12 months), The staff team is comprised of Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Worker’s, Community Care Officers, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychological therapists and Psychiatrists.
You will provide an important and valued professional function working with some of the most vulnerable people in society. Your professional expertise and approach will ensure individual needs and aspirations are supported at all times, risk is managed proportionately and safeguarding is of paramount importance. You can expect commitment to your personal and career development.
You will need to be compliant with the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Human Rights Act, Mental Capacity Act and associated Codes of Practice to fulfil your duties in this role.
You will need to have experience of working with the service user group and be able to use social work methods to promote positive change, independence and wellbeing in accordance with assessed need, whilst promoting choice and control for adults and carers.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to apply legislation to practice including the Children Act 1989 is required and good IT skills to support accurate and timely case recordings.
You must hold or be working towards a Social Work England recognised qualification, and have evidence that you are registered with Social Work England. Applications for students awaiting qualification and registration are welcome.
Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving license and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car.
