We are pleased to be able to advertise a fulltime post for a Supervising Social Worker based within the Fostering service in Kirklees. 

It is an exciting time for the Fostering Service with the implementation of the Mockingbird hubs and Multi Systemic Therapy with a high emphasis on child centred social work and support to foster placements. You will be joining Kirklees Fostering at a time of change and development and therefore will be part of our journey going forward. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has experience in working within children’s services and someone who has the ability  to  support and supervise foster carers and to work to ensure the child’s voice is central to everything we do.

You will be responsible for and involved in the recruitment, training, supervision, support and reviews of our foster carers. You will also work closely with the Placements Team regarding the matching of children to available placements/ carers. We want to make sure you have everything you need to deliver good outcomes. We have a commitment to providing our social workers with high levels of support ensuring high-quality professional development and achieving the best possible standards of supervision and management.

Mobile and agile working is in place across the service, so some flexibility is required to be able to meet the requirements of the role.

You must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with Social Work England regulator.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence, and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car.
