A unique opportunity has arisen for a new fixed term post of Assistant Headteacher to increase leadership capacity and support our school improvement journey.

As the only maintained nursery school in Kirklees we are a unique setting providing education and care for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. As the Assistant headteacher you will assist the headteacher and Governors by:

  • Maintaining outstanding education by taking a lead on teaching and learning across school.
  • Taking an operational lead on Flatts Vision and Values in Outstanding Practice and all policies related to high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Offering strategic leadership of Flatts Nursery School, embedding recent changes and implementing new changes and evaluating their impact on practice
  • Securing safe school environments for all with robust safeguarding systems and processes in place.
  • Supporting continued professional development (CPD) with staff through modelled practice and support

This role will comprise of approximately a 0.5 teaching role alongside designated leadership time which will include time in the classroom improving practice.
