To commence from 1st September 2022, we are excited to announce the new position of Assistant Headteacher at Flatts Nursery School.

As the only maintained nursery school in Kirklees we are a unique setting providing quality education and care for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. 

We are a well-resourced school with highly experienced staff and are now looking for the correct person to join our team to support our ongoing improvements in teaching and learning and the continued development of our curriculum goals.

We are passionate about giving our children the best start and believe all children deserve a champion.  


We are looking for someone who:

  • Will provide the vision, direction and leadership of our nursery children, with overall responsibility for the teaching and learning
  • Is passionate about making a difference in children’s lives
  • Is interested in SEND and working closely with our families and outside agencies
  • Is dedicated to achieving the highest standards for all children
  • Will work to promote diversity and inclusion
  • Is committed to improving outcomes which narrow the gaps for those children most vulnerable
  • Is highly organised and interested in the detail to ensure policies and procedures embed
  • Will have the abilities required to work in partnership with the headteacher, lead the team and use their own initiative
  • Has a secure understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
