Activity Support Assistant (Lunchtime Supervision) & Educational Teaching Assistant - Birkby Junior School
This role is a blend of an Activity Support Assistant and Educational Teaching Assistant.
For this role you must:
Be able to work as part of a team to support the learning and welfare of pupils in school. Particular emphasis will be on working with individual pupils and small groups.
Have experience of working with children/young people in a school environment and knowledge of the national curriculum.
Assist in securing the health, safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils, organising and supporting appropriate play activities and good behaviour in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school.
It is essential that you have the ability to react in a positive manner to difficult situations which may arise amongst children/young people.
It is also essential that you have the ability to relate to children/young people from diverse ethnic/social backgrounds.
You will be required to supervise the pupils remaining on the school premises at lunchtime.
The ability to relate to children/young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as having good verbal communication skills in order to liaise with children/young people and other staff members.
