Kirklees Councils Economy and Infrastructure Directorate have a vacancy for a Disposal and Acquisitions Officer  to join the Disposals and Acquisitions Asset team to actively assist in the team’s role in the strategic delivery and management of the council’s land and property assets primarily to include the Councils commercial estate, and general estates portfolio.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience and understanding of Landlord and Tenant Law, commercial estate management  including disposal and acquisition processes in addition to  wayleaves /easements/licences, rent reviews , managing repairs, debt recovery and property records and other matters that would be commonplace in a busy wide ranging property office. 

As a key officer in the team you will possess a range of experience and developing skills and will actively support senior staff in a whole range of property related matters. 

You will

 

·       Have a property related qualification at graduate level and taking steps to obtain professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and/or

·       You will be able to demonstrate significant experience in a land and property related environment to satisfy the demands of the post

·       Be a team player with the ability to work on your own initiative

·       possess excellent communication skills and customer focus.

·       Have experience in a map based terrier record system

·       Have experience and understanding of how to read and interpret leases, deeds, Title Registrations and plans 

Ideally you will have some previous Local Authority experience (but not essential to the right candidate) and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of asset and estate management knowledge and duties.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who is prepared to work flexibly and as part of a team, in a high profile and demanding environment, working to tight deadlines in accordance with corporate service delivery and project demand.
