About the role

As a Communications Business Partner, you will lead significant communications and marketing campaigns and programmes of work on behalf of the council.

You will be leading and motivating communications and marketing professionals at all levels, making sure that the service is both proactive and responsive to meeting the changing needs of the organisation and its customers

The role requires you to ensure that our communications and marketing strategically supports Kirklees Council and its Partner’s objectives

By understanding the political nature of the council as public sector organisation, you will provide support, advice and guidance to directors, councillors, and other officers in a professional and sensitive manner.

About You

As an experienced marketing & communications professional, you will be as confident in dealing with the media during a crisis as you are presenting a marketing strategy at a board meeting.

You will be able to demonstrate your capacity to lead a team to create, and deliver communication and marketing activities across the organisation.

You will have excellent interpersonal and writing skills, and the ability to communicate complex messages to a range of audiences in a creative and engaging way.

The ideal candidate will have experience of, and willingness to work in a busy environment, managing multiple priorities, and work under pressure.

We’re looking for someone who demonstrates excellent leadership skills, who can confidently manage and support a small team.

Whilst leadership is important, this role is hands on and we expect you to be able to deliver communications on your own using both traditional and digital communications and marketing skills.

You should have a relevant degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
