Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a permanent Finance Assistant to join the Finance Team based at its Leeds city centre office. Though currently remote/home working arrangements are in operation.

Reporting to either the Management Accountant / Financial Accountant the post holder will be responsible for timely and accurate input into a range of financial systems including creditor, debtor, nominal, bank and payroll. The post holder will also assist across a range of other financial work including reconciliations, support with the preparation of financial accounts, recharge calculations, budget variance analysis and resolving/managing queries from both internal and external sources.

The successful candidate must have a strong understanding and demonstrable experience of financial controls and procedures, ideally within a Local Authority environment. Additionally, the candidate must have strong team working skills, be results / deadline driven and support partnership working across the whole organisation.

You must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths and with experience in a similar role.
