Business Support Officer role within Divisional Management Team supporting Heads of Service
The Team
It is a fast-paced team, where common sense, quick thinking and a pro-active approach is key. The role involves supporting Heads of Service and will require you to be able to work closely with your team as there are times when joint support and cover for each other is necessary.
The Role
This role is to provide business support for the Head of Learning Disability and Mental Health, Head of Commissioning Partnerships and Market Development and Head of Access Strategy and Delivery, across Adult Social Care. You will work alongside 2 other BSO’s who support their dedicated Heads of Service. There are 10 Business Support team members in total and we value working as a strong supportive team.
Key tasks include:
- Complex diary management - this is a large part of supporting the Heads of Service. Diary management includes organising meetings with both internal and external colleagues, organising meetings and rooms both within the council and sourcing alternative accommodation where necessary.
- Liaising with Councillors, CCG and Locala colleagues, the University and various consultants and external partners.
- First point of call and filter for all incoming calls.
- Preparation of appropriate resources when required.
- Processing confidential correspondence and supporting safeguarding issues.
- Email management daily, appropriate filing and archiving of emails.
- Varied requests for work that come in on an ad hoc basis, bringing interest, variety and opportunities for learning and personal development.
- Minute taking.
- SAP processing on occasion.
- Basic BSO tasks – word processing, proof reading, formatting and hybrid mail
- Supporting colleagues and providing cover (as and when time allows) with other Heads of Service work demands.
