£42,403 - £44,428

You will be entitled to a retention payment of £1500 per year which will be spilt into two payments, in December and June. You become eligible for the payment after 6 months employment and successful completion of your probationary period.

An opportunity has arisen in the Kirklees area. The AMHP hub responds to MHA assessments and holds Social Supervisor responsibility.

You will be fully supported by a dedicated team to undertake this complex and demanding role.

You will provide an important and valued professional function working with some of the most vulnerable people in society. Your professional expertise and approach will ensure individual needs and aspirations are supported at all times, risk is managed proportionately, and safeguarding is of paramount importance. You can expect commitment to your personal and career development.

You will need to be compliant with the Mental Health Act 1983 (Amended 2007), Human Rights Act 1998, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated Codes of Practice to fulfil your duties in this role.

You will need to have experience of working with the service user group and be able to use your skills to assess risk and promote good practice and the best possible outcome for the service user. You will also work closely with other teams and individuals to promote positive change, independence and wellbeing whilst promoting choice and control for adults and carers.

Working knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to apply legislation to practice is essential including the Children Act 1989. Good IT skills to support accurate and timely case recordings are also essential.

You must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification, be qualified as an AMHP and be registered with the Social Work England.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time.  It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence, and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car.
