SENDCo & Assistant Head Teacher
Full-time maternity cover for twelve months or by arranged secondment with 3.5 days Year 6 teaching commitment
Meltham CE Primary School would like to invite applications for a creative and energetic leader, teacher and SENDCo to work in our happy, friendly and vibrant school as part of our Senior Leadership Team.
This post is ideal for anyone currently working as a SENDCo or assistant SENDCo who would like the opportunity to experience working in a large or alternative setting.
The post also comes with a one-year Assistant Headship working alongside an established Senior Leadership Team and with 3½ days teaching commitment including full PPA release time.
The role offers 1½ days a week protected SENDCo release time alongside our existing dedicated SEN Business Support Officer.
The successful applicant will lead the school’s Inclusion Team and oversee the strategic leadership of SEND in school.
Visits to the school are encouraged and we ask that you make contact with the school’s office to arrange an appointment to look around, meet with the Headteacher and the school SENDCo.

In return, we are looking for a teacher who is:
- An excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations.
- Committed to raising standards in all areas of the curriculum by being passionate about enabling every child to fulfil their potential.
- Skilled in building strong working relationships with children, parents, staff and governors.
- Has experience teaching in Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2
- Experience as a working SENDCo or Assistant SENDCo
Please note that candidates will be selected on the strength of both their application and their recent and relevant experience in relation to the specified role. Meltham CE Primary School and its governors are also open to an arranged secondment which can be negotiated with existing schools and we also encourage interested parties to make contact.
