This role is a development opportunity and subject to successful completion of agreed development plan, with set deliverables and timeline, the posting will be confirmed as permanent, with transition to Grade 10.
Grade 9 (Appointment will be made a Grade 10 subject to the applicant completing an agreed development opportunity within an agreed timeframe).

This job is internally restricted. To apply for this job you must be an employee of the Council/KNH for the duration of the recruitment process – up to and including the start date. You must also be a substantive employee (or an employee with 12 months continuous service or more) of the Council or an Apprentice. Please note that if you work for an Academy you are not an employee of the Council.  

*The substantive role is a Grade 10 (£29,909 - £32,233) and the Job Description enclosed details the role and responsibilities of this grade. This will be used with the successful candidate to develop a suitable development plan following interview.

We have a vacancy for a Surveyor which we would like to offer as development opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career in this specialism. We will work with the successful candidate to develop a bespoke development plan, including a mentoring programme, attendance at appropriate formal courses and meaningful feedback to support you to develop into and succeed in the substantive Grade 10 post. 

The successful post holder will develop technical expertise on all aspects of building maintenance and surveying, including detailed preparation of detailed specifications, planning and monitoring work, and contribute towards the Asset Management Plan. 

As part of the development programme post holders must be willing to pursue an ONC in a Building Services discipline or equivalent, together with a willingness to work towards a HNC or Equivalent (Level 4 in the Construction and Built Environment). A number of other formal professional courses will also be provided including Asbestos, Legionella, Damp and Timber, Fire and any other compliance training as required in the role.
