Our School

Colne Valley High School is one of the first purpose built comprehensive schools in England; founded in 1956 and is located in the Colne Valley, an area of outstanding beauty in the east flank of the Pennine Hills in West Yorkshire. Easily accessible from Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and surrounding areas.

In September 2019, Ofsted judged the school to be ‘Good’ in all four categories. This judgement reflects the significant progress and incredible journey by the school since the previous inspection in June 2017.

The Role

Maintaining high levels of behaviour and student engagement within the Academy is a key part of our approach to improving educational attainment and our Personal Development team play a crucial role is ensuring this happens.
Responsible to the Personal Development Manager, we are recruiting for a new PD Co-ordinator who will supervise and co-ordinate the implementation and delivery of Colne Valley High School’s isolation room, whilst contributing to the development and smooth running of the Personal Development system.

Key areas and accountabilities include:

  • Managing the day to day running of the isolation room, ensuring that students are effectively supervised and that high standards of behaviour are achieved.
  • Communicating and supporting students with completing their work as appropriate whilst maintaining a calm and positive environment.
  • Ensuring staff and students are aware of the procedures and expectations whist in isolation and, where necessary, reinforcing the reasons for the sanction.
  • Liaising confidently with parents/carers in relation to the Personal Development system.
  • Liaising with colleagues in the PD team, the Senior Team, SENCO and Heads of Faculties regarding patterns of student behaviour.
