To drive forward the delivery of this ambitious programme of work we have refocused our resources to create this new and exciting Head of Highways role. In this role you will work, closely with our Major Projects, Town Centres, Housing and Planning Services. You will lead the development and delivery of:

  • Highway Design and Road Safety
  • Highway Asset Management
  • Highway Operations
  • Highway Planning & Integration
  • Urban Traffic Control (UTC)
  • Highways and Land Registry

You will have a proven track record of success in delivering effective highway services and substantial capital programmes as well as the ability to work effectively with and influence partners. Your joined-up approach, with a focus on outcomes for people and communities, will mean you challenge and support where needed. Just as important as your technical skills is your political nous and ability to work and inspire confidence within a political environment.
