Westborough High School is a caring, vibrant and happy learning community.  We value all our staff and work together to make a difference to children’s lives.

To commence September 2024, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational lead teacher – science curriculum development, to join our expanding science department.

This vacancy will suit a passionate teacher of science who would like to support the ongoing development of the science department and who is ready to take their first steps into a curriculum leadership role or equally a more experienced applicant.

Westborough has a strong and stable staffing platform and can develop staff whatever their career stage.

You will be joining a successful and well-established science team and are warmly welcome to a visit with our team leader/senior leader or headteacher.

Following the Section 8 Ofsted inspection in June 2022, Westborough continues to be a good school and ‘leaders are ambitious’ for the pupils.  There is a real team approach at Westborough, where everyone, no matter what their role in school is, wants the ‘best’ for pupils.  Ofsted were very complimentary about the culture of the school, describing it as, ‘welcoming and inclusive.’

Applications are welcomed from candidates who:

  • Consistently deliver highly effective lessons in your subject area
  • Have experience of developing effective teaching resources and strategies
  • Have the skills and energy to inspire, lead and motivate others

As a valued member of our team we can offer:

  • Clear and shared values and expectations
  • A commitment to tailored professional development
  • A stimulating work environment
  • An experienced, highly committed and support leadership team

If you want to work with us on our journey to excellence, then we would like to hear from you.

Completed applications should be returned to Fiona Sharp, PA to the Headteacher at the school or via email fsharp@w-h-s.org.uk (CVs will not be accepted.)

Closing date is 9.00 a.m. Monday 29th April 2024

Interviews likely to take place on either Thursday 2nd or Friday 3rd May 2024.

(Based on the quality and quantity of applications received, Westborough High School reserves the right to interview sooner than the specified dates above. Applicants will be notified of this where possible. Therefore, early applications are encouraged.)
