Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Netherthong Pre-school.

Netherthong Pre-School & Out of School Club are looking to recruit a new team member to join our pre-school and out of school club provision. We aim to provide a nurturing environment for all children and staff with wellbeing at the centre of our practice. We are looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about early years and looking to make a difference in young children’s lives by providing unique learning opportunities and nurturing relationships with children and their families.

Applicants will ideally be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or working towards this qualification and have experience of working with 2–5-year-olds. We would also consider supporting the right candidate through Level 3 training. We offer a friendly and experienced staff team with lots of knowledge to pass on to the right candidate, along with the company of many lovely children to brighten your days!

Applicants will be required to communicate effectively with children ages 2-7 years and their parents, and must have a strong ability to work as a team member.  Training will be provided on all relevant policies and procedures within our setting, including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and The Prevent Duty.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of the preschool team to provide safe, high-quality education and care of young children and to take on a key person role at our setting which involves establishing good relationships with an identified group of children, scaffolding family relationships, recording observations to monitor progress including identifying next steps.

A DBS service check will be required for this position. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.  Any job offer will be conditional and be subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references.

The role is for 30+ hours per week term time, to be discussed at interview. The pre-school and out of school club is open Monday to Friday 7:45am-5:45pm, and hours could change termly with good notice depending on intake and ratios of children, keeping within your contracted hours and the opening hours of our setting. We also run a holiday club for children aged 2-7 so hours would potentially be available during the holidays too. The salary is competitive (£11.44-£12.08ph) dependent upon qualifications and experience. We also would consider applicants wanting part time hours/job shares and SEN 1-1 roles.

Some other perks of the job include paid half termly staff meetings, weekly paid no contact time to complete observations and reports, paid over time, paid training (CPD), working for a charity incorporated organisation (CIO) which is non-profit and proud to provide an excellent service to our local community in Netherthong!

Please contact Rebecca Morgan (Setting Manager) for further information or email your CV with a covering letter to apply for the position. Please visit our website at www.netherthongpreschool.org for more information on our lovely setting. The deadline for applications is 31st March 2024, successful candidates will be contacted within a week of this date to be invited to interview.
