Internally restricted job. To apply for this job you must be an employee of the Council for the duration of the recruitment process (up to and including the start date) or a Trust Member of staff who works in a Kirklees Social Care Setting. You must also be a substantive employee (or an employee with 12 months continuous service or more) of the Council / Trust or an Apprentice. Please note that if you work for an Academy you are not an employee of the Council.

The main purpose of the Social Care and Wellbeing Service is to identify the Social Care need of Kirklees residents and to respond, often in partnership, with cost effective, quality services that safeguard and promote the well-being and safety of those people in the community in the greatest need.

The All Age Disability Service provides support across all ages for residents with Learning and Physical Disabilities.

The teams within the All Age Disability Service consist of Learning Disabilities, LD DOLIC, SAPT, Enablement and Shared Lives. The Business Support Officers support the Social Workers, Community Assessment Officers, Managers and Deputy Managers in these teams. This can be a demanding role where common sense, quick thinking and a pro-active approach are key.

There are a variety of administrative, financial, and business support duties that may form part of your job and it will be expected that you deal with information which may be sensitive or confidential. You will need to be confident in dealing with people who have learning disabilities sometimes with additional physical disabilities or dementia.


Main duties:

  • Specialist administrative support
  • Information and record management as directed
  • Data processing (input and retrieval)
  • Produce basic statistical and management information
  • Processing of invoices
  • Arrange meetings and take minutes as appropriate

 

It is essential that you have IT skills and familiarity with computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Access and Excel. You should be able to demonstrate business and administration skills to NVQ 2 level and have a level of literacy to be able to produce routine documentation.
