The School Organisation and Planning team plays a crucial role in commissioning future provision, working closely with the local school system to ensure there are sufficient school places. 

You will be a key part of this small team, supporting the development and delivery of school organisation and planning initiatives. 

The work of the team contributes to the positive educational outcomes for families in Kirklees. As such, the work of the team is subject to intense legal, political and educational scrutiny. 

You will: 

  • Provide support to the Head of Education Places and Access and the School Organisation and Planning Manager in all strategic and operational tasks related to school place planning and school organisation.
  • Contribute to providing expertise, up to date information, technical advice and guidance to support strategic planning, decision-making and implementation.
  • Co-ordinate the collation of school place planning data and information for the Local Authority’s school place planning and organisation strategy.
  • Establish and maintain effective systems to liaise with officers within the Directorate of Children and Families and across the Council regarding the planning, development and organisation of school places.
  • Provide a key operational link between school place planning and admissions to schools.
  • Maintain accurate net capacity information on schools and provide advice on these measures.
