Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

The Travel Plan Network (TPN) team is based within the Combined Authority’s Business Support function. It provides its business members with expert advice and guidance on implementing sustainable travel solutions, including discounted public transport offers, shared mobility, active travel initiatives and bespoke relocation support.

The team is supported via a European funded project, Interreg SHARE-North. This project focuses on promoting shared mobility as a strategy to reduce transport emissions, regain street space for people and enhance quality of life, and improve public health.

Role

The team plays a key part in supporting businesses in the Leeds City Region to achieve inclusive and clean growth by helping them to embed sustainable travel planning principles within their organisation. They work with businesses to help influence behavioural changes and travel choices of their employees for commuting and business purposes, with the aim of reducing single occupancy car use.

  • The role will involve providing project support to a small team of Business Travel Advisors and the team’s Service Managers. Responsibilities will include liaising with key stakeholders and project delivery partners, collating and processing claims related to the project and ensuring contract/audit compliance.
  • It will also involve helping to coordinate events, meetings and maintaining accurate records as well as supporting wider marketing campaigns to help increase membership of the network and promote public transport, walking, cycling, car clubs, car sharing and wider business support.

This post will be part funded through the European Interreg SHARE North fund.

​​​The Person

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the delivery of this project for the region’s businesses.

  • The successful candidate will have knowledge and practical experience of financial systems and processes and also of maintaining accurate and compliant project documentation.
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required, as well as experience of budget and communications administration.
  • Experience and knowledge of project and contract support in a European and publicly funded context also desirable.
