Job overview

Message from Philip Lewer, Chair of CHFT

Welcome to our microsite for the position of ANED.

We are looking for an insightful, curious and passionate colleague to join us as a non voting member of our Board.

The role of ANED is a new and exciting one for CHFT. We already have a really talented and compassionate Board with skills and experience gained across the Health and Social Care sector and beyond. We are now looking for the right candidate with the right skills who shares our values to join us and focus on our quality priorities.

You may be looking to embark on a career as a NED and want to gain more experience, or you may be interested in bringing your energy and enthusiasm to CHFT at a really exciting time, as we embark on our reconfiguration of hospital services. Whatever is the case we are particularly interested in a diverse range of candidates who can help us be reflective of our workforce and community.

On this microsite, you will find lots of information that will help you decide if you are the right person for us and we are the right organisation for you.

However, if you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please do not hesitate to drop me an email at: philip.lewer@cht.nhs.uk

I’m really looking forward to hearing from you.

Main duties of the job

The Trust is piloting a new Associate Non-Executive Director (NED) role at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to share your specialist knowledge and expertise and to make a positive difference to the lives of those served by the Trust.

We believe the best Boards are those that reflect the communities they serve and are interested in a broad range of people who want to contribute to the Board of the Trust. We welcome applications from all backgrounds, particularly from people we know who are under-represented in Non-Executive roles who can bring life experience and personal insights into one or more of the following:

  • People from the local BAME communities
  • The lives of people from socially deprived backgrounds
  • Those who live with a disability
  • Experience of gender and women’s issues
  • Younger people
  • Those who are open about their faith
  • Those who are openly LGBTQ+

Please note when a NED vacancy arises, interested Associate NED candidate(s) would need to apply and compete in an open recruitment and selection process.

Working for our organisation

Our purpose is to provide compassionate care to the communities we serve. To do this, we believe the health and wellbeing of our colleagues is crucial to delivering compassionate care.

As you research more about us, we hope that our values of ‘one culture of care’ are clear and that you know that if you are interested in applying for the role you will be joining a really kind, caring and compassionate organisation.

Due to the need for the successful candidate to live in the geographical areas that we serve, its most likely that you or your family have received care from us in the past. We hope that you can bring your experience as a patient or a loved one with you to the role and that your passion and commitment to good quality outcomes helps us ensure that everyone who receives care from CHFT has an outstanding experience.
