An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed person to join the Kirklees Inward Investment team. Working alongside other members of the team you will support our business engagement activity, helping to identify new leads and shape the promotion of Kirklees as a great place to invest and to do business.

The Kirklees district is a highly diverse place to live and work. It is strategically placed within the Leeds City Region and the council is actively working to maximise the opportunities that this brings to the area. Good transport connections exist to the Greater Manchester and Sheffield City Regions, and future improvements through the Transpennine Route Upgrade will further enhance Kirklees as a key business location. We have the thriving University town of Huddersfield, stunning Pennine countryside and significant numbers of heritage assets. Diverse towns and villages range from Dewsbury at the edge of Leeds to Holmfirth at the edge of the Peak District.

The Kirklees Economic Strategy establishes the council’s ambition to capitalise on these assets and support the growth of an inclusive and productive economy; weaving together investment in skills, innovation, and infrastructure. With ambitious employment targets, strategic employment sites and town centre regeneration objectives set out in the Kirklees Local Plan, and the Huddersfield and Dewsbury Blueprints respectively, there has never been a better time to be part of the proactive and forward thinking Growth and Regeneration service.

Reporting to the Grade 12 Project Officer (Inward Investment) you will work as part of the wider Kirklees Business Team to promote Kirklees as a great place to invest and to do business. You will work closely with colleagues in the Business and Skills Team, and from the Local Enterprise Partnership and other local, regional and national partner agencies including DIT, to develop and promote a compelling place narrative to help attract and secure new businesses and investment into the district.

You will be responsible for developing promotional and marketing material and undertaking proactive lead generation activity to attract new project leads from both within the UK and overseas. You will also work with the wider business team to ensure that marketing and communications activity supports the teams wider work to support business growth and investment in the district.
