Kirklees Council, Adult Social Care are looking for a talented and capable Service Manager to join Adult Social Care and lead our Adult Social Care Operational Services.  You will be joining Kirklees at a significant time of change and transformation.  You would also be part of a highly-motivated management team.

As a professionally qualified Social Worker, you will be a Service Manager accountable for the delivery of operational services across the Locality Hubs and Hospital Social Work Teams, supporting adults aged 18 upwards, physical disability and older people.   Our new arrangements interface with the Council’s vision for early intervention and prevention and our developing locality hubs support place-based models of care to ensure the right outcomes for people.  Whilst leading social work teams you will also develop strong relationships with partners, including health and the North Kirklees CCG, supporting the whole system around hospital discharge and planning for integrated care models.   You will have responsibility for managing resources, providing clear leadership, direction and management of your teams and be accountable for substantial budgets.

Reporting to the Head of Service you will be part of the service management team and be responsible for developing and implementing the service vision and leading teams of professional social work staff.  You will be required to support Team Managers and Social Care Assessors with assessment, review and safeguarding functions, ensuring that members of our communities have the right care and support and are supported to stay safe. 

Close collaboration is required with individuals responsible for South Kirklees.

You will need to be a professional role model, accountable for quality of practice, developing the potential of all employees and promoting a culture which maximises employee contribution to achieving service objectives.

You will be Social Work qualified and Social Work England registered with significant post-qualification experience. An understanding of project and business management techniques as well as specialist knowledge of adult services including relevant legislation and government guidelines is essential.
