About Homes & Neighbourhoods

About the Role 

We are seeking professional, dynamic leaders in the Homes and Neighbourhoods Service, candidates who can demonstrate exceptional professional leadership and management skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

As a Housing Services Manager, you will be responsible for people and functions across the Housing Management and Partnerships service areas which includes, Neighbourhood Management, Empty Homes, Caretaking Services, Income Management, Older People’s Support, Money Advice, Employment Support, Customer Experience and Tenant Involvement & Engagement. 

Specifically, you will have management responsibilities across several specialist accommodation functions which includes the specialist or non-traditional housing stock working collaboratively with key services to improve or transform services, the Older People’s Support Services and Leaseholders. You will also work closely with colleagues across the council and partners to support the development of new build housing schemes.

This role also involves direct line management and leadership of Housing Managers providing support and guidance to teams who deliver services across Kirklees.  You will also be required to deputise for the Strategic Manager and other Housing Services Managers as and when required.

You will be required to provide leadership by acting as an ambassador for the council and a positive role model and play a key part in supporting the Strategic Manager and the Head of Service to deliver organisational purpose, vision, and objectives.

We continue to work primarily working from home, but the roll-out of our hybrid working model is taking shape in line with corporate strategies and business needs.  As such, travel to various locations to carry out the duties of this job may be required. A full driving licence is desirable (exceptions can be made for disabled applicants).
