L 19-23

Do you want to be part of an inspirational team in a school which has a proven track record of outstanding performance and a strong reputation for the high quality of provision for all its pupils?

The school was graded as Outstanding in 2019 but is never complacent and has developed significantly since then. With the support of a strong, committed and capable staff team we have well-developed curriculum and assessment frameworks based around a number of pathways, supporting specific pupil needs. We are highly responsive to changing pupil profiles, making adaptations and being open to new ideas. We have a mature culture of on-going training and development for everyone and an ambition for the school to offer support and training to other schools. The school is committed to continuous improvement in all aspects with the aim of securing the very best offer for its pupils.

This post has arisen as a result of the school’s mission to nurture and develop leaders of the future, as the current post holder moves into Headship. It is an exciting time to join our outward facing and highly collaborative special school.

If you are an experienced senior leader with an interest in SEND, and you have a track record of sustained improvement, then this is a fantastic opportunity for you to bring fresh challenge and ideas to our school, securing further improvement. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate an open and enquiring mind to contribute to our continued improvement. You will share the school’s ‘can-do’ spirit and model it in your daily practice and leadership to inspire and engage the children, families, staff and the local community. You must also be a confident, positive, compassionate and strong leader who can hold staff to account whilst being accountable yourself. Above all, you will share the passion and belief that children, their learning, development and potential are at the heart of all decisions.

Roles and responsibilities of the post are to be determined in collaboration with the successful applicant. Ravenshall believes in playing to people’s strengths and places emphasis on personal values, compassion, integrity and attitude above knowledge and skills. However, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in school improvement and in leading staff teams to engage and enthuse pupils to achieve the best outcomes. The post requires excellent communication skills to support all stakeholders of the school alongside a strategic yet flexible approach to school leadership.

Successful candidates should expect to fulfil wide and varied roles and responsibilities whilst working in partnership with the Headteacher. Post holders will work closely with other leaders to see the development of new ideas and initiatives put into practice and shape the future of the school as a Centre of Excellence.
