Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Ravenscliffe High School

Start Date: 1st September

We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to join our wonderful staff team at Ravenscliffe High school. As a teacher at our school, you will need to take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil’s achievement and ability to develop. This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to develop creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. We are looking for a general teacher who will teach a range of subjects across the whole age range, however a strength or an interest in ICT and Science teaching would be desirable.

The successful candidate will also have responsibility for a mixed ability pastoral group.

We are keen to attract someone who can demonstrate an optimistic and aspirational attitude towards our pupils. Although it is desirable that you possess some prior experience of working with pupils with special educational needs, we are also keen for candidates who may not possess all the skills as yet, but could bring to us a positive “can do” approach and we will train you in the appropriate techniques and strategies. Therefore, applications from Newly Qualified Teachers with an interest in teaching pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties are welcome.

We wish to appoint someone with an attitude that supports the school’s ethos as a principle requirement:

  • is a committed teacher with some experience of delivering a highly bespoke Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.  This could be suitable for an established experienced teacher or someone keen to develop their career in this field.
  • is able to effectively manage a variety of social, emotional and behavioural responses
  • is passionate about supporting students learning, well-being and safety
  • is able to show a real commitment to working as part of a team to meet the individual needs of the students

We would be able to offer:

  • a great learning environment for students with a strong community ethos
  • a school where staff are valued and treated with respect
  • a hardworking, committed and dedicated staff team who strive to gain the best outcomes for all our students
  • an inclusive community that respects others, champions individuality and celebrates all achievements.

If you have any questions about the position, please contact the school directly to speak with Joanne Hague, Co-Headteacher. Visits to the school are encouraged by appointment.
