Are you passionate about and highly committed to helping people find, keep, maintain and live independently in their own home?

Kirklees Council’s Housing Solutions Service delivers a range of services aimed at preventing and relieving homelessness for individuals and households across the district. The service adopts a person-centred, creative early intervention approach to solving housing problems, with our functions including:-

  • Advice on a range of housing options and how to access them
  • Assessment of housing need and homelessness
  • Provision of emergency homeless accommodation
  • Outreach and wraparound support for vulnerable rough sleepers
  • Information and advice to private sector tenants and landlords
  • Housing related support to enable people to maintain their accommodation

We are looking to expand our service to help meet the challenges of post-pandemic housing pressures. We are therefore seeking a professional, enthusiastic Housing Solutions Officer with a ‘can-do’ attitude who can support the delivery of positive outcomes within our busy teams.

Our Housing Solutions Officers work directly with customers face to face and over the phone to identify and assess their housing needs, provide information, advice and support, and develop a range of solutions to help customers resolve their housing needs and problems. This requires working closely in partnership with a range of internal and external agencies.

Our employees are at the very heart of the services we provide to the community, to help us achieve our ambitions, we want the best possible team. In return, we will make sure you are rewarded with a great range of staff benefits to support you in and out of work.

We’re very happy to discuss flexible working through hybrid working and flexitime to achieve the work-life balance we know is so important to our workforce and our service.

This post has a blended approach - a combination of working from home, site visits and office working (Huddersfield Civic Centre 3 or Dewsbury)
