The Council has ambitious plans for jobs and homes, meeting the councils climate emergency declaration through working with partners, councillors, colleagues, businesses and residents. This post holder will contribute towards the Councils priorities and objectives to ensure well designed buildings and spaces are secured through the regulatory frameworks.

The post holder will build upon the work already under way to deliver the Flood Risk Management Strategy and oversee the role of the Lead Local Flood Authority. This secondment opportunity is a great chance for an experienced, self-motivated and ambitious officer to lead the Flood Risk Management Group in supporting the Council’s Planning function, project and community work. A key function of the role is representing Kirklees Council at regional meetings and in ensuring the team is adopting a best practice approach.
