Permanent position: 1 x full time (37 hrs) posts based in the Huddersfield office providing Adoption Support.

One Adoption is a Regional Adoption Agency, a shared adoption service across the 5 local authorities in West Yorkshire. We are seeking an adoption support social worker to work with adoptive families primarily from the Kirklees and Calderdale areas and based in the Huddersfield office.  

One Adoption West Yorkshire prides itself in providing a high quality adoption service that is timely, flexible and responsive.  The stated aims of the agency are to move children into their adoptive family without delay; that families get help and support at every stage of the adoption journey; children have good quality care, a sense of belonging and stability within their adoptive family; children, adoptive and birth parents as well as adopted adults are listened to and have an influence in decision that affect them and service development.

If you are an exceptional, motivated, dedicated practitioner; able to demonstrate a proven experience of effectively undertaking social work then we would like you to apply to become part of our team.  We are looking for candidates who have some knowledge and understanding of the impact of early childhood trauma as well as separation and loss in relation to adoption.  You will need to be a skilled social worker and be able to engage well with children and adoptive families.

The post is open to social workers and senior social workers, however you will need to demonstrate that you have successfully passed a progression process in order to be appointed at Senior Social Worker level.
