An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Health Technician, to support the maintenance and development of West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service’s Occupational Health Unit.  You’ll join one of the country’s leading fire and rescue services; to become part of a team where everyone plays their part in making West Yorkshire Safer.

Working within the Occupational Health Team, you will deliver health screening and surveillance programmes as well as carrying out regulatory and statutory health related assessments for operational fire fighters and support staff.  This includes undertaking baseline and periodic health assessments on vision, lung function, hearing, height, weight, urine etc., and giving advice where needed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has completed an Occupational Health Technician course or is able to complete this within 3 months of employment.

You should have good knowledge of the principles of infection control and the code of conduct for confidentiality.  You will be experienced and confident to work under your own initiative. You’ll need a good level of Literacy and Numeracy, alongside IT and admin skills.

You will work with a wide range of people across the organisation so good communication skills and a positive attitude is a must!

The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Check and the possession of current valid driving licence.
