THIS ROLE IS BEING ADVERTISED ON BEHALF OF WEST YORKSHIRE COMBINED AUTHORITY

The Organisation

We have an opportunity for an exceptional person who wants to play a leading role in reshaping our local economy and forging better futures for millions of people.

It’s an exciting time to join the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, following the recent announcement that an ambitious £1.8bn devolution deal has been secured for West Yorkshire, as part of which the £63m annual Adult Education Budget will be devolved to the Mayor. Through devolution we will be working to drive up living standards through better transport, improved skills and stronger businesses, while tackling the climate emergency.

The Combined Authority has ambitious plans to unlock the vast potential of the region by building a strong, successful economy where everyone can build great businesses, careers and lives. Skills sits at the heart of this ambition, and we are seeking an exceptional candidate to play a central role in preparation for devolution of AEB from summer 2021.

The Role

The successful candidate will mainly be responsible for analysing and communicating management information relating to the devolved Adult Education Budget, in order to guide strategic and operational decision-making. They will have a crucial role to play in the inception and delivery of the devolved programme, influencing commissioning policy, contract management and quality assurance, as well as contributing to the specification and development of appropriate information systems. This is an opportunity to become part of a multi-disciplinary Research and Intelligence team whilst working closely with colleagues from across the organisation, most notably the AEB Manager who will oversee the programme.

The Person

We are looking for a proactive, motivated candidate with significant experience of working with management information generated through the Individualised Learner Record in a college, training provider, funding agency or similar practical setting. Detailed knowledge of further education funding policy and processes is essential. This must be underpinned by excellent analytical skills and a strong track record of communicating intelligence in a clear and impactful manner.

Our Offer

We offer an excellent benefits package including access to a generous employer-contribution, local government pension scheme and fully funded travel throughout West Yorkshire by bus and rail with the MCard. We also offer an encouraging environment that will allow you to achieve your best work/life balance and career goals.

The Combined Authority’s aim is to attract people from diverse backgrounds to build on our inclusive culture. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, race, gender, religion or beliefs, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation.

Applicants with a disability are guaranteed an interview, subject to the minimum criteria being met.

We are committed to inclusivity and will consider requests for flexible working including part time and job share arrangements.
