Learning and Development Officer (Restorative Practice Focus) - Internal

What is involved?
You will join the Learning and Organisational Development Team, and work alongside other members of the team who are focussing on supporting the embedding of restorative practice across the Council.
You will develop your skills to facilitate action learning sets with groups of staff and learn to facilitate conflict resolution to support staff and customers as part of developing our approach. You will contribute or lead some key elements of organisational development to support our restorative practice implementation.
If you are successful, your work programme will be agreed with you to be commensurate with your starting salary.

- Be able to demonstrate the ways in which you have implemented restorative practice in your work
- Have highly developed emotional intelligence and Interpersonal skills
- Be willing to learn and able to demonstrate your on-going development
- Be self-aware and self-reflective
- Be comfortable with conflict and be able to remain neutral in conflict situations.
- Show willingness to question your own prejudices
- Be encouraging, motivating and supporting of others
- Have a track record of collaborative working with good project management skills
Your Development and Support
You will be based with the Learning and Organisational Development Team. You will shadow or co-facilitate action learning for the first 6 months to support you to develop your skills in both action learning facilitation and restorative practice.
You will be supported through individual and group supervision and CPD provided with our Restorative Practice co-ordinator and external independent expert.
For the time being we are planning to facilitate most of our delivery through Microsoft Teams. We offer flexible working to all our employees believing work life balance is a key component in achieving our outcomes.

Interviews will take place on the 17th and 18th of September 2020 so please reserve these dates.
If successful you will be required to join a Restorative Action Learning Set (ALS) on the 22nd of September 2020 (if not already participating in an ALS).
