This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a senior leader to further develop and improve Mental Health services in Wakefield. We have high ambitions for Adult Social Care within the Wakefield District, working with partners to deliver high quality services to ensure citizens and communities achieve their full potential.

As Service Manager - Mental Health, within the Adults & Health Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering efficient and effective Mental Health services. You will also lead on Strategic Safeguarding, and Mental Capacity (including DOLS/LPS) as well as being our strategic lead for Social Care in the two prisons within Wakefield District.

Through building strong relationships with our partners in the voluntary and community sectors and across the NHS and public sector, you will significantly contribute to our aim of achieving better outcomes for Adults and Older People. The role will include close working relationships with South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, who host our integrated Mental Health Teams. You will also have direct line management responsibilities for team managers across MHA and Mental Capacity Team, Forensic (Secure) Social Work Team, Older Persons CMHTs, Dementia Care Home and the SAB Board Manager.
