A great opportunity to join a dynamic multi-faceted team as we embark on our most ambitious plans to deliver new Council Housing across a range of tenures. 

A rare opportunity to oversee planning and delivery of new council housing schemes across Kirklees. The role of General Manager will:

  • Manage a priority-based programme of pre-construction activities including due diligence on title, viability and planning and procurement
  • Establish an overall priority programme of starts/completions
  • Ensure sustainable delivery is maintained across each work stream
  • Champion innovation to deliver accelerated and low carbon housing where viable
  • Deliver smooth and timely transition between milestone development stages to maintain programme
  • Report operational and commercial performance
  • Work with colleagues to maximise funding streams and grant allocation
  • Work with colleagues to refine, improve and streamline the development process
  • Work with colleagues to identify development opportunity on existing assets
  • Work with colleagues to identify internal/external land acquisition opportunity
  • Support the overall asset strategy in ensuring best use from existing and future assets 

You will be responsible for leading a team of technical specialists and operational staff in the delivery of programmes of work

Interviews are expected to take place on the 5th March 2021, and will include a 15-minute presentation, details will be provided with the invitation to Interview.

Please note that following a Kirklees Council Cabinet meeting on 20th October 2020 a decision has been made for KNH to transfer to Kirklees Council from 1 April 2021. 

If you are successful with your application, your employment will begin with KNH and will transfer to Kirklees Council on the same terms and conditions and your continuity of service will continue following the transfer.
