Fairfield is a large special school which provides for learners with a diverse range of complex and profound learning difficulties including physical and medical needs from 3-19 years.  We offer a broad, balanced and personalised curriculum which provides opportunities to enrich the daily lives of our students. At Fairfield we strive to encourage and develop a strong sense of achievement for all our pupils. Through our nurturing environments we build each individual’s potential to succeed in learning opportunities as valued members of our school community. Fairfield was recently judged to be a ‘good’ school by OFSTED in June 2022.

We are looking to appoint an Activity Support Officer to support the learning and welfare of pupils/students with profound and severe needs over the busy lunchtime period.

You will be expected to provide all aspects of personal care to our students, whilst additionally supporting the learning needs with individual pupils and small groups.

Experience of working with children/young people in a school environment is essential, and experience of working with pupils who have profound and multiple learning difficulties would be an advantage.

A particular emphasis would be in supporting, under the direction of specialists, the medical and physical needs of our pupils.
