Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038. 

Are you a passionate communicator with experience of working with consumer brands?

We’re working hard to bring more choices and better services to bus passengers in West Yorkshire and we’re looking for a strong communicator to bring the new proposition to life.

We’re recruiting a communications and marketing specialist with expertise in delivering strategic communications plans, behaviour change campaigns and developing brands in a fast-paced environment.

This is a new role with an opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives as we deliver travel and transport improvements across our region.

The successful candidate will be based in our award-winning Marketing team and work closely with the colleagues across our directorates.

The roles

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, evolving and future proofing our public facing travel and transport brands
  • Delivery of impactful integrated marketing and communications campaigns across the full mix of earned, owned and paid media
  • Delivery of strategic communications plans, developing and testing messaging, briefing senior leaders and securing media coverage
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders and with suppliers including partner councils, agencies and media

About you

This is a varied role which will suit an individual proficient at managing multiple projects and working with a range of stakeholders. You will have the following key skills, attributes and experience but not be limited to:

  • expertise in developing and testing consumer brands
  • skilled in delivering integrated marketing and communications campaigns targeting consumer and business audiences
  • experience of delivering successful strategic communications plans including media relations and securing local, regional and national coverage
  • experience of relationship building and collaboration in a partnership environment.
