As Customer Services Officer, you will be responsible for the management, development and deployment of all Welcome Officers (including casual staff) across the museum and gallery sites within the Service.  You will ensure that your team is motivated, supported and appropriately trained to achieve the highest standards of customer care, site presentation, security and safety for the benefit of all our visitors.  Your team will be confident and able to deal competently with a wide range of activity including retail and refreshment operation, learning group visits, exhibition installations, venue hire and social functions, as well as dealing with any issues which may arise.

You will be responsible for line managing the Welcome Officers and following HR processes such as attendance management, performance management as well as the creation and implementation of rotas. Responsible for recruitment of Welcome Officers, you will create and implement development programmes for all Welcome Officers and monitor and review performance.

You will support the Museums & Galleries Manager on preparation for all quality standards relating to customer care and liaise with all teams across the service on front of house issues relating to the customer offer.  You will create resources which will standardise customer service across the service and allow your team to deliver to the highest possible levels.

You will be based at Tolson Museum, Wakefield Road, Huddersfield, HD5 8DJ but will also work across other sites.
