Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership work with local councils and businesses to ensure that everyone in our region benefits from a strong, successful economy and a modern, accessible transport network.

Overall, the Combined Authority covers a population of around 2.5 million people, 1.5 million jobs, over 120,000 businesses and represents the largest, and perhaps the most diverse, economy outside London.

The Combined Authority has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement and Contracts Manager. This role will lead the development and delivery of strategic and complex procurements and provide expert contract management advice on wide range of issues. This role will mainly be supporting the delivery of capital funded projects over different funding streams. The post holder will provide expertise and leadership in a specific category or as contract management lead for the team. The role will also act as a business partner to a defined stakeholder group.

Category expertise in any of the following areas would be advantageous for this role: civil construction, general construction, professional services or significant contract management expertise.

You will have an excellent track record of successfully delivering strategic procurements and providing contract management oversight. You will have extensive knowledge and experience of best practice procurement and contract management methodologies. You must hold a relevant professional qualification and have strong practical knowledge of applicable legislation.
