The Job 

The main requirement of the Team Leader role will be to collaboratively across KNH, other Council services and key stakeholders to establish new and innovative ways of engaging with tenants, leaseholders and occupiers of flats and high-risk residential buildings to ensure their voices are heard with regards to fire safety. 

There are several functions the postholder will be responsible for including: 

  • To develop an understanding and awareness of the emerging Building Safety Bill and how this will impact on the work of the team.
  • To develop an overarching engagement approach that responds to the requirements set out in the Fire Safety Bill.
  • To establish new and innovative ways of engaging with tenants, leaseholders and occupiers of flats and high-risk residential buildings to ensure their voices are heard with regards to fire safety primarily.
  • To ensure that tenants, leaseholders and occupiers are made aware of their legal duties in relation to fire safety by using ‘hearts and minds’ campaigns.
  • To ensure that a complaints process is developed and embedded that responds to the requirements set out in the Fire Safety Bill
  • Have line management responsibility for Housing Officers (Fire Safety)

You may also be required to deputise for the General Manager in Partnerships and, possibly other General Managers across the business, as and when required.   

To do this role you will need: 

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 4 (C) or above in English & Maths or equivalent
  • NVQ level 4 or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to interact effectively and sensitively, in person, via the telephone and in writing with a range of stakeholders, internal and external
  • Skill and ability to work with partner organisation to achieve common goals
  • Proven experience and ability to understand the importance of budgetary control and proactively manage budgets
