As a Project Assistant in the Employment and Skills Team you will support the successful delivery of a wide range of projects.  It is envisaged that successful applicants will support the delivery of the projects in the Job Focus Sheet, however this will be dependant to best suit the needs of the employment and skills  the team.

The projects are aimed at supporting Young People to access Education or Employment in Kirklees have been developed in response to Leeds City Region (LCR) European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) calls.

Positive Minds is an ambitious programme designed to bring together Employment Support and Mental Health provision into one cohesive model. It will provide support for Young People aged 15 to 24 to overcome mental health needs in order for them to progress into Education or Employment. Outcomes include removing barriers to Education and Work, improving residents’ skills, and ultimately sustained employment.

Led by Kirklees District Council, Works Better Positive Minds is a partnership project with a range of delivery partners including CK Careers, Northorpe Hall and S2R.

Positive Minds will receive up to £937K of funding from the European Social Fund (ESF) as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England.

Works Better Enhanced is designed to be inclusive to disadvantaged residents. It will identify and address the barriers faced by all age groups seeking employment, irrespective of background and personal circumstance. The project provides a personalised, holistic service offering a comprehensive and innovative matrix of support activities. This will be combined with an effective referral process to specialist support agencies where necessary.

Led by Kirklees Council, Works Better Enhanced is managed by Kirklees Council it is delivered across the Kirklees District in partnership with Fusion Housing, Paddock Community Trust, Proper Job Theatre Company and Kirklees Homes and Neighbourhoods. Delivery will run until December 2023.

Works Better Enhanced is receiving up to £4.29million  of funding from the European Social Fund (ESF) as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England.

Over the lifetime of the above programmes it is expected that a minimum of 6,000 residents will be supported. Outcomes include removing barriers to education and work, improving residents’ skills, and ultimately sustained employment.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities will include Claims and Monitoring tasks such as:

  • Initial point of contact for the programme, including all email, web, phone enquiries
  • Administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the programme
  • Input and extract of data on our Management Information System to compile information for claims and reporting
  • Using Microsoft Excel to produce detailed financial and performance monitoring
  • Checking and processing of project evidence to compile claims files for ER Project Officers to review and submit for external audit
  • Support ER Project Officers and Manager where required
  • Cover local administrative duties for Kirklees
