This job will appeal to you if you like the buzz of a busy team and have a genuine interest in ensuring children and young people experience good quality placements to grow and develop in.  As a Placement Officer you will be allocated referrals by a Team Manager.  You will check referrals for accuracy, balance and completeness for children and young people, from babies to age 17.  You will identify in-house and external placements for children in need of accommodation.

You will also conduct Quality Assurance/contract compliance visits, complete Quality Assurance paperwork, identify strengths and weaknesses of placements, deal with complaints and/or concerns, keep accurate records and create reports.

We are a small team who support each other through team work.

Requirements for this role:

  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Research skills;
  • Understanding of the needs of children and young people and the challenges they face;
  • Willingness to develop knowledge of the market, Ofsted requirements and relevant legislation; and
  • Awareness of social work processes in relation to placements.
