Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of The Pivot Academy.

Here at Pivot our vision and passion to grow as a company and provider is stronger than ever. Our purpose is to give all children access to equal choices and chances for life.

Pivot teaches and supports children who are excluded or are at risk of being excluded from mainstream school, and children for whom mainstream education is not the right solution. We have a number of Alternative Provision schools and also provide School Support Services to mainstream schools.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Social Worker and Designated Safeguarding Lead across Pivot. This is a pivotal role within the organisation that will be instrumental to bridging the gap between education, social care and family links. More importantly, the postholder will be key to ensuring our offer is sustained and students really get the best deal.

Alongside offering social care expertise and experience, you will be the lead on safeguarding within the organisation, managing and supporting the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads and carrying out audits at each site as appropriate. You will be the safeguarding representative for Pivot at multi agency meetings and when dealing with other schools and agencies, therefore, we expect someone who will carry out these duties in a professional manner and to the highest standards, acting as role model for students and staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready for their next challenge. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us and who has the passion and desire to truly transform our students lives.

As an organisation, Pivot can offer you:

  • The opportunity to enrich the lives of young people and make a positive difference to their futures.
  • A free counselling and supervision service for all staff.
  • A flexible approach to family appointments.
  • A commitment to staff development, including supporting staff to undertake new opportunities, CPD and middle leadership programmes.
  • Competitive salaries with room for growth.
  • 28 days annual leave entitlement for non-term time staff.
  • An early finish every Friday.

Become a part of our inspirational Pivot Academy family and join our talented team today! Because children deserve better.
