The Organisation

West Yorkshire Combined Authority are seeking to appoint a Portfolio Support Officer to join our Portfolio Management and Appraisal (PMA) Team.

We bring together local councils and businesses, through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) ensure that our work meets the needs of employers so that everyone in our region can benefit from economic prosperity supported by a modern, accessible transport network, housing and digital connections.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Role

The Combined Authority’s Portfolio Management and Appraisal (PMA) Team oversees a £1bn+ portfolio of programmes and projects. These schemes are either delivered directly by the Combined Authority or through one of our partner organisations. Whichever the delivery route, the PMA team has responsibility for ensuring that only schemes which meet the strategic aims of the organisation are developed and delivered within the agreed time, cost and quality framework.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Portfolio Support Officer to provide first class administrative support across a multi-disciplinary team.

About You

The successful candidate will be educated to A level or equivalent or have relevant experience. They will also have experience and knowledge of using Microsoft Office systems. They will also be extremely well organised and have an understanding of programme and project management methodologies.
