The Information Governance Assistant is a generic role and the post holders will form part of the Information Governance Team. As a member of the Information Governance team you will provide advice and guidance to Council officers in relation to all aspects of information governance with a focus on one of the following: 

1: records management

2: legislative compliance

3: other information governance functions including information sharing and information security.

You will be expected to work across the range of areas as the need arises to support the development of a corporate Information Governance culture including the development and implementation of the Corporate Archive Facility. The Information Governance team sits within the Governance Service and you will be located between your home office environment, Civic Centre 3 and the Central Archive Facility at Red Doles Lane.

You should have experience of working with the Freedom of Information Act 2000,Environmental Information Regulations 2004, General Data Protection Regulation 2016 and Data Protection Act 2018.
