The KICES service operates across the whole of Kirklees and currently provides items of equipment to meet people’s assessed needs to promote their independence. This includes equipment to enable individuals to undertake activities of daily living as well as health related items, for example, pressure relieving solutions.

The aim of the service provision is to provide people with the opportunity to retain some control over their lives, reduce risk and maintain them in their own home for as long as possible.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of the vision for KICES, assisting the KICES Manager in overseeing the management of the contract with the provider and providing positive leadership in the development of the service.

This will involve working closely with prescribers to ensure appropriate use of the service’s resources and with the provider, Medequip, to ensure effective service provision.

This is a development opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, to act as a champion for KICES in decision-making arenas and work with health and social care colleagues, partner agencies, independent private/voluntary sector providers and other departments to develop and ensure the implementation of an Assistive Technology Strategy.

To be considered for this job you will need a good understanding of the positive outcomes Community Equipment Services can offer, demonstrate robust clinical reasoning and be prepared to authorise or challenge requests for provision of equipment.
