Kirklees Council’s new project, the Supported Housing Improvement Project is seeking a highly motivated and skilled project officer to lead the implementation of this project alongside a highly skilled team to drive up standards of supported accommodation across Kirklees.

The Project Officer role is high profile, acting as an ambassador for the Council’s approach to improve, attract, and sustain good, supported housing providers across the district. You will lead on developing and maintaining multiple partnerships with key stakeholders including other Council departments, third sector partners, private providers, other public bodies and the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the team delivers a high-quality service and adheres to all relevant required outcomes of this project. You will need the confidence and skill to challenge partners and providers. As well as manage expectations and retain focus on the team’s agreed objectives. You will need to be a dynamic, self-directed, and organised leader who can drive forward the Supported Housing Improvement project.

The role is both challenging and rewarding – you will lead a highly motivated team to make a huge difference to the quality of housing and support to vulnerable individuals as well as value for money and will need the tenacity and perseverance. You will also need strengths in the understanding of housing quality, housing support and Housing Benefit.
