This job is internally restricted. To apply for this job you must be an employee of the Council for the duration of the recruitment process – up to and including the start date. This role is part of HD-One, the Council’s flagship Shared Service Centre. We provide centralised services to the Council, its partners and external clients. Our core functions include a payroll and personnel service to over 18,000 employees, payment of invoices to 25,000 creditors and collection of invoices for sundry debt in excess of £1m every month.

You will be part of a team assisting with first line technical and specialist support and advice in the use and maintenance of SAP on behalf of the authority and its external clients. The team is responsible for maintaining, enhancing and developing new functionality with the SAP system – providing a help desk service and training to optimise system usage.

You will be based in Civic centre 3 (but initially expected to be working from home). You may also be required to travel to attend meetings and provide support for all SAP users.

Main Duties:

  • Master data maintenance
  • Daily system monitoring
  • Support, guidance and help desk facility
  • Customer contact through a range of methods
  • Assist with user acceptance testing
  • Assist with system issue resolution
  • Assist with SAP user training
  • Assist with generating routine reports
  • Promote best practice
