Are you experienced in Workforce Development, HR or Training and looking for a new challenge?

We are looking for a Project Officer to join our team to help us drive forward workforce development within our Operational Services.

The Project Officer will play a key role within the Operational Services Workforce Development and Training team working alongside the Training Manager in the day to day development and implementation of workforce development related projects.

To be successful in this role you will need the technical knowledge, behaviours, and experience to enable change. If successful, you will join a positive and highly collaborative team which continually strives for excellence as part of a modern, flexible, and emotionally intelligent workforce.

You will need high emotional intelligence and excellent relationship building skills as this role will include working with colleagues across the Council and within the different Services we support.

Requirements for this job include:

  • Supporting the day to day development and delivery of one or more projects.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the work is planned in a way to effectively achieve the required results with support from the Training Manager
  • Supporting collaboration of change projects between the Operational Services and other service areas
  • Ensuring lines of communications with all stakeholders are in place and helping to effectively managing stakeholder relationships to support implementation activities
  • Keeping all information up to date to continually tracking progress
  • Undertaking research and analysis into best practice from other local authorities, public sector organisations and private sector bodies and makes relevant contacts where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain appropriate Project Management Office Systems (financial and non-financial), project management and financial documents, contributing to project/ programme reporting and auditing
  • To be able to show initiative and work autonomously when required.
  • To show flexibility, adaptability and resilience when faced with quick and frequent change.
