Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.

Are you experienced in office administration? Do you enjoy working in a team? Do you have excellent organisational and communication skills?

You can help West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service by joining the team and providing excellent administrative support for the Information Governance Team and the wider Corporate Services functions.

You will be responsible for coordinating the administration of Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests in accordance with legislative requirements, providing advice and guidance, and responding to requests.  You will administer meetings including preparing agenda, taking minutes, and preparing action logs. You will design, create, and maintain the corporate document management system and ensure information is published on the website ensuring transparency arrangements and the Publication Scheme are maintained and accurate. 

You will have extensive administrative experience in a busy office environment, extensive experience of MS products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint and have a high level of initiative, tact, discretion, and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential information. You will have the ability to analyse and interpret data and be able to organise your own workload and make decisions.

Whilst you will be required to work from our offices for parts of your initial training, after this you'll work both in the office and from home as part of our 'hybrid' working model. Therefore, applicants must have a reliable home internet connection.
